ASAMS
The American Society of Aerospace Medicine Specialists
Membership
If you are an Aerospace Medicine Specialist or if you're a physician interested in the specialty of aerospace medicine you should belong to the American
Society of Aerospace Medicine Specialists (ASAMS). As a constituent organization of the Aerospace Medical Association, ASAMS is strategically placed to
provide leadership in the science, policy and practice of the specialty of aerospace medicine within North America.
ASAMS will define core-competencies for residents in aerospace medicine, define practice guidelines for aerospace medicine practitioners, represent
and promote the interests of physicians who specialize in aerospace medicine, promote and preserve the highest professional standards of care among
practitioners of aerospace medicine, and strive to interest young physicians in the specialty of aerospace medicine. ASAMS needs you if it is to achieve
its objectives.
You may apply for full member status in ASAMS with full voting rights if you have demonstrated a high level of expertise in aerospace medicine as
evidenced by certification in aerospace medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Preventive
Medicine.
Associate membership is available if you have a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from a medical school located in the
United States or Canada and have a genuine interest in the specialty of aerospace medicine.
If you are a medical student or resident with an interest in the specialty of aerospace medicine you may apply for student/resident membership.
Associate and student/resident members do not have voting privileges in ASAMS. All membership categories require that you also be a member in
good standing of the Aerospace Medical Association.
ASAMS membership cost for Full or Associate members is $10 per year. The fee for students and residents is now "free". NOTE-- Payment of ASAMS
